Depression and Anxiety: How to overcome on them?
Importance of exercises in depression and anxiety related disorders.
We are living in an age where we enjoy many things which we couldn't some 20 to 30 years back. The science and technology have progressed and we invented and discovered many solutions to our problems. On the other hand, the fast pace of life has affected us and we are suffering from different disorders and diseases. One of them is anxiety or depression.
Anxiety and depression are actually normal reactions but if excessive, they should be treated. A normal person would suffer in the life and feel depressed but will come out of it. We call it normal phase. An abnormal phase is where depression or anxiety overcome on you and you feel vulnerable in the hands of these disorders.
There are many drugs which are used. For depression, Citalopram is one of the best. But, we are not going to talk about which medicine or drug you have to take. We shall concentrate on the easier ways to overcome or at least lessen the effect of depression and anxiety.
Cued Exercises:
The modern-day technology and researches have proved that exercises are best medicines to lessen or overcome on depression and anxiety. Including in these exercises are "Cued Relaxation". Below are some of the tips you can use to enjoy a more healthy life while gradually overcoming on depression,anxiety and stress.
* If you have a particular part of your body tensed, try to relax it. Think about it that your this part is getting relaxed by tightening and then relaxing it.
*Widen your shoulders and drop them while stretching them a bit. Change the posture when you feel your body is getting tensed.
* Say something to yourself. For example, any word that you think is going to help you getting your body relaxed such as, "calm" and repeat this word while telling yourself " I am going to get relaxed now".
* If you like something in particular, you should keep looking at it for moments.
* Think about an environment which you like most. For example, a valley where there is a river flowing, birds are chirping,etc.
* Breathe easy and normal. Inhale and exhale. Keep doing it until you think your breath is normal and you are relaxed.
By acting on above stated simple tips, you can lessen your tension and stress.Keep it in mind that drugs are only to calm you down so can these small "Cued Relaxation" exercises.
